We’ve spent some time putting together an “Educating the Bride” page to give a brief history of wedding videography as well as three categories of service you can expect to find with corresponding prices. We’re not worried about having you investigate what’s available to you… you should… and we’re here to help! Click HERE to get educated!
Unless you own the rights to it, the answer is no, as that would violate copyright law. Additionally, we want to maintain creative freedom by having a wide range of choices available to us in post production. We have a number of fantastic options which we can license legally for your film. Some of our favorite music vendors are Song Freedom, The Music Bed and Marmoset.
We can have a second shooter available for an additional cost. Our films are crafted in such a way that we’re very targeted in how we shoot your film because we know your story going in. Very little is left to chance and can avoid “spray and pray” coverage.
Simply put, it improves the quality of your video dramatically. With the cameras we’re using, we need to be selective in what we’re setting the exposure for. As an example, by exposing for the face during makeup, often you’ll see a window “blown out” with little if any detail beyond the glass. While we can only control so much, and this is unavoidable at times, when we can exercise a measure of control over lighting, such as the toasts and first dance, it results in a better image. See the photo below as an example of with and without video lights.
Again, we’ve found that by controlling the situation to the degree we can, we create a situation in which we can get the best footage possible for your film. When toasters stand behind the head table or walk around the venue, this creates a real challenge for the filmmaker. There are many benefits to using the mic stand which go beyond improving the quality of the image.
Check out the short video below by my friend Michael Simons and see the difference a mic stand can potentially make!
That’s no problem, once your deposit is made and date reserved, you can take some time to decide which package fits your needs. Sometimes that decision is hard to make prior to a sit down creative meeting to start generating some ideas and storylines for our signature Love Story. We will allow you to upgrade a Wedding Day package to the Love Story or do an add on such as the extended film up until editing begins.
Currently we require a $500, non-refundable retainer and signed contract to save your date. Quotes via our price sheet are valid for two weeks only (from the time of receipt) and because our pricing is subject to change without notice, booking early is always going to be in your best interest! The balance of the commission is due in full one month prior to the wedding date. We understand budgets, and are willing to be somewhat flexible with payments. We can talk and craft a plan in our contract that fits your situation, with two conditions:
Yes! We will operate within a 75 mile radius of St. Croix Falls, WI at no additional cost. We will need to add on a surcharge for weddings a long drive or overnight stay away. Driving costs currently are $1/mile beyond 75 as well as covering (negotiable) lodging fees beyond 120 miles. Destination weddings requiring flying will incur additional travel fees. Call us to work out details!
Absolutely, we’ve worked with some of the best in the business. If you need some ideas, just give us a call!
We know you’re anxious to see what we create for you once all the footage is captured! Our goal is to complete all editing and deliver your films in all forms in between 8 and 12 weeks after the final shoot day is completed. Depending on our workload it may be slightly longer.
