Likely you’ve already seen that Storyteller Videography goes the extra mile to tell better stories. That alone makes us unique! Additionally, we’re very proud and honored to be recognized the last 2 years (by independent judges) as being among the best videographers in Minnesota at the MN WEDDING VIDEO AWARDS. However, we’d like you to consider five additional ways we separate ourselves in this competitive artistic field. Please take a few minutes to view the work of videographers you’re considering and compare it to ours. Really look at the finer details. You’ll see we distinguish ourselves in the following areas:
We love shooting with you on your day of course, but our true passion is the assembly good films. We feel it’s important to take the VERY best audio of your day and deliver it. Sometimes this takes most of a day in the studio to comb through 30 minutes of speeches just to find the PERFECT words to tell your story! Other times it’s the ceremony that holds the most emotion, and if we felt that during shooting, then perhaps that’s what we grab to include. Cards and interviews are another way to draw out your story… we do what it takes! We’ve already put forth effort to know you as a couple through your homework assignment, and we shoot with a purpose… with the final film in mind.
Often we’ve seen videographers in our market, who cost twice as much as we charge, not give any extra attention to lighting the toasts. A beautifully lit speech compliments the wonderful words being spoken. Sometimes a very good film can be ruined by poor lighting at the reception. Most videographers are using good light during the dance, but we strongly feel multiple lights are important during the toasts as well! Additional info is on our FAQ page.
Since going to this setup being used by the best event videographers across the country, we’re thrilled with the result! Most other videographers don’t use this approach, even those charging more! There are so many reasons using a microphone stand for speeches pays huge dividends. It keeps the speaker in focus, he or she is optimally lit, the speaker’s hands are free for notes or a drink, and we capture quality audio EVERY time. No more holding the microphone too low! See additional info (and a video) on our FAQ page!
You’ve paid good money for a professional. Handheld footage has its place in filmmaking and can definitely draw out a certain emotion from the viewer. However, our style dictates it is used sparingly. We think if you’re going to watch a cinematic piece, there should be beautiful movement, not shaky handheld. For us, we’re reminded of cheap 1980s videography, so if you want handheld, you can save a lot of money and have your Uncle Bob shoot the wedding! We invest in various stabilization tools, so we believe in putting those to work for you to help us create more “solid” films.
We don’t think of ourselves as more important than anyone else serving you on your day. Our practice is to contact each vendor you’ve contracted with to introduce ourselves and offer our assistance to them, as well as make them aware of our needs. This will help make your day go very smoothly and we can all provide you with the best product possible! You may come across some vendors with inflated egos (we surely have)… that’s never the case with Storyteller… this is YOUR day. If you’d like names of some of the best “team players” in the wedding industry locally, we can help!
